Caring for the Environment

The
community is invited to a special service at First Congregational Church in
Stoneham on Feb. 16 on caring for our environment.  At the 10 a.m. service, the president of Massachusetts
Interfaith Power & Light, Jim Nail, will speak on Caring for God’s Creation.

Then at 11:15 during coffee hour in
Fellowship Hall, he will present “Becoming a Sustainable House of Worship,” and
lead a Q&A session.

The special service follows a recent
vote by First Congregational trustees to join the Massachusetts chapter of
Interfaith Power & Light (MIP&L), a consortium of 200 worship centers
working to reduce carbon emissions through more efficient use of energy—and
promoting environmental stewardship  in
the church and community.
