19. : Stoneham police are searching for a woman accused of stealing merchandise and assaulting a loss prevention officer at Marshalls Department Store Monday night.

About 6 p.m. June 11, police responded to Marshalls at Redstone Shopping Center for a report of a shoplifter who punched a female loss prevention officer in the face upon being stopped at the exit., according to an email to Stoneham Patch from Detective Christopher Dalis.

18. : In the Stoneham Board of Selectmen race, incumbent Robert Sweeney was reelected while fellow incumbent and board chairperson Paul Rotondi narrowly lost to Tom Boussy for the second seat. Anthony Kennedy finished in fourth place.

In the town clerk race, Assistant Town Clerk Maria Sagarino won easily over the other four candidates.

Meanwhile, voters narrowly approved the debt exclusion for the estimated $40 million Stoneham Middle School project.

16. Stoneham Convenience Store Robbed at Gunpoint [PHOTOS]: A Stoneham convenience store was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday night, according toPolice Detective Christopher Dalis.

At 8:59 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to theDB Mart, 427 Main St., for a report of an armed robbery. 

15. POLICE LOG: Stoneham Man Arrested Twice in Three Days: At 6:09 p.m. on March 27, Stoneham police respond to Cottage Street on a report of a domestic assault. Louis Romani, 33, of 3 Lucy St., Stoneham, allegedly led police on a foot pursuit before being located in a Dumpster behind Stop & Shop Supermarket. He was charged with assault and battery. 

At 8:45 a.m. on Sparhawk Way on March 29, Romani allegedly violated a restraining order by making contact with the victim to pick up his dog at her residence. He was last seen on Citation Avenue wearing a black Boston Bruins t-shirt and black pants. He was located next door and taken into custody on charges of violating an abuse prevention order and carrying a dangerous weapon.

13. : A Methuen woman died and her passenger was seriously injured during a crash on Route 93 early Sunday morning, according to a State Police press statement.

On Monday morning, police identified the accident victim as Ashleigh Baudin, 25. Her passenger—a Medford man—has not been identified by police.

12. Man Dies in Early Morning I-93 Crash: A 35-year-old Everett man died early this morning in Stoneham when his car went off I-93 North and crashed into a rock ledge, according to a Massachusetts State Police press release.

State Police troopers responded at 1:30 a.m. Monday morning to a single-car crash before Exit 36 on Route 93.

11. Stoneham Middle School Demolition Gets Underway [PHOTOS]: The walls of the aging Stoneham Middle School came crumbling down Monday morning, as demolition work got underway at the site.

From 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Essex Newbury North Construction demolished the technology wing and gym section of the middle school, according to Timothy Hurdelbrink, vice president of operations and project executive for Boston-based Shawmut Design and Construction. Shawmut hired the Haverhill construction firm to handle the demolition project.
