Hiring a Home Inspector

When purchasing a new home, it is extremely important to have the home fully inspected. During the home inspection the exterior and interior are fully reviewed to make sure there are no issues. The structure, roof, windows, basement, and foundation will be examined around the exterior. As for the interior, the inspector will examine the heating/cooling, plumbing, and electrical systems.

Many buyers wonder when they should hire a home inspector. At Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate The Shanahan Group, we recommend hiring right after the offer to purchase contract is signed. You do need to make sure that there is an inspection clause in the contract making the purchase contingent on the inspectors findings.

At Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate The Shanahan Group, we also recommend the buyer to be present for the inspection. It’s extremely important that the buyer has the opportunity to ask questions during the inspection to gain more knowledge about the home. Make sure the inspector writes out a FULL report of the findings and talks with you about any issues that may need repairs or further investigations. Have fun purchasing your DREAM HOME!!!
