Second Only to World Record, Where to Buy a Ticket for Tuesday Night's Jackpot

Another lottery jackpot is growing toward record levels, and this time it is Mega Millions.

Tuesday night's jackpot is estimated at $344 million, already making it one of the 10 largest lottery jackpots in U.S. history, bit this time with a greater chance that ever of rolling over after the odds changed in October.

Top jackpots are becoming nearly a common event, with the top five jackpots coming in the past two years.

If nobody wins on Tuesday night, it is likely that Friday night's drawing could approach a record amount.

Tuesday night's jackpot is largest since the world record $656 million Mega Million jackpot was won on March 30, 2012,according to a Mega Million press release. The jackpot has been building since the jackpot was won in Maryland on Oct. 1.

Mega Millions tickets are $1 and the game is played in Massachusetts and many other states, including New York, California, Texas, Michigan, Illinois and Ohio. In Beverly, you can get a ticket at 41 different locations.

Those locations include 7-Eleven on Elliott Street, Beverly Shop N' Go on Essex Street, Corner Variety on Hale Street and Shaw's on Dodge Street. There's a complete list of all lottery dealers in Beverly on the Massachusetts Lottery website.
