The Alternative To Spending More and Getting Less for Health Care

As more people truly understand that their thinking determines how much stress they allow into their life which, in turn, determines the health of their body, they will seek out the means and methods to align positive thinking and positive action into positive health.  Their thinking also includes what actions or inactions they take to create a certain level of health. 

 

As a society, we have developed technology and medications for treating the symptoms of stress.  As the medical community is seeing, treating symptoms does not adequately get to the root of the problem.  While it is comparatively easier to treat the symptoms, the results are limited and expensive.  The alternative, having each individual adjust their lifestyle on a national level, is a challenging proposition.  It requires a cultural shift, one person at a time.  It will take dedicated, knowledgeable people with a passion for helping others through their life challenges.

 

Through traditional martial arts training, many students with lifestyle-related diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, individuals have been able to quantitatively reverse their symptoms.  When they maintain their practice, they indefinitely keep their symptoms under control, effectively eliminating the disease.

 

The list of health issues that can be controlled start with one’s habitual, emotional responses to stress.  Stress, when used positively, allows one to change and grow, or used negatively, results in anxiety, fear, indecision, eating disorders, lack of energy and enthusiasm, anger, frustration and depression.

How many have been trained to be healthy?  Healthy isn’t merely working out and having strong muscles, aerobic activity and being disease-free.  It is training to know what types of thinking creates healthy outcomes with one’s self-esteem, overcoming challenges, positive relationships with others, and aligning are thinking with our actions with our meaningful goals.
