HELP YOURSELF SO YOU CAN BETTER HELP OTHERS

Whether you own a company, are a parent, a doctor, a teacher or anyone else who affects the lives of dozens or thousands of people directly, your main priority is to always make sure you are in good shape first.

Amongst the many changes in health care and in health insurance these days, there is also a growing realization that “care of the sick necessitates a humanistic orientation that emanates from the heart and combines commitment, values, and compassion.” (See http://www.explorejournal.com/article/S1550-8307(13)00142-0/fulltext#back-bib7)

The daily stress of handling multiple responsibilities and shifting circumstances, quickly wears on the mind.

Stress blocks people from building stronger relationships with their own self, much less with other people.

ONE SECRET

One secret to feeling alive is to maintain and refresh the things that feel passionate and give you joy.

But because the mind and body are so connected, the mind won’t tap into that feeling until the body feels better.

If you are doing a sport or going to a gym and your head is still distracted during and afterwards by the things weighing on your mind.

If you think you can get away without doing something physical on a daily basis, your mind and body will tell you something different, whether now or in the near future.

Aches and pains are your warning signs.  Circulatory, respiratory, and endocrine-related problems are other warning signs.

If you aren’t doing physical activity to counteract the stress put on your body, the resulting health problems will eventually put you further and further away from feeling passionate and being an effective leader.

ANOTHER SECRET

Another secret is to continue to challenge yourself, grow, and apply what you’ve learned.

Learning brings new life into your experience.  Tackling new challenges builds your willpower and your confidence.

You will need your newfound willpower and confidence to stay ahead of life’s challenges.  If you feel the battles you’re fighting are always the same level of difficulty, it means you haven’t outgrown them to fight more challenging battles.

Stay ahead of life and build your strength so you can help others better.
