StoryTime for Little Ones

Why Go: StoryTime is for children ages 0-plus mixed ages, and it is perfect for families. Songs, stories and simple crafts for children to enjoy with an adult in the activity room. When Stoneham Public Schools are cancelled so will StoryTime. For more information, contact the Stoneham Junior Room  at 781-438-1325.

Learn to Ice Skate

When/Where: Tuesday, Jan. 29 at 5 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 2 at 12 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 3 at 1 p.m. / Stoneham Arena, 101 Montvale Ave, Stoneham, MA | Get Directions » 

Why Go: Ice Skating is a great winter activity for all ages and abilities. Come and join the Stoneham Figure Skating Club to brush up on your skills or learn a few new ones. Figure and hockey skaters are welcome. Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday sessions are open to those between the ages of 3 and 17. Adult and advanced skater sessions are held on Saturdays at 10 a.m. Register at any time.

Price: $11.

Senior Chorus and Tambourine Band

When/Where: Thursday, Jan. 31, 9:30 am / Stoneham Senior Center, 136 Elm St, Stoneham, MA | Get Directions » 

Why Go: The Silver Notes Chorus rehearses every Thursday (except holidays) at 9:30 a.m. at the Stoneham Senior Center. The Geri-Jingles Tambourine Band rehearses immediately after. The groups perform at various Stoneham Senior Center events including the holiday party, at other events around the community, at fundraising events, and at area senior centers and retirement homes. They have even appeared on Community Access TV. Help spread the joy of music! For information call Linda Kirk at (978) 475-1852.

7th Annual Women and Heart Disease Seminar

When/Where: Saturday, Feb. 2, 10 a.m. / Montvale Plaza, 54 Montvale Ave, Stoneham, MA | Get Directions » 

Why Go: Redstone Liquors holds weekly beer tastings on Fridays. This week's tasting is Slumbrew.

Price: In recognition of National Red Dress Day, Hallmark Health System’s Cardiac & Endovascular Center invites women of all ages to attend its seventh annual women and heart disease seminar. Participants will learn more about women and heart disease, stroke prevention, how stress, exercise and wellness can affect women’s health, the importance of good nutrition, and so much more. The event will also include a free luncheon, raffles and lots of information to help women stay healthy including blood pressure and body mass index screenings and an informational session with pharmacists. The event is free, but registration is required.
