Stoneham Looking to Hire New Plumbing, Gas Inspector

Find out more about the qualifications the town of Stoneham is looking for in a new plumbing and gas inspector.

The town of Stoneham is looking to hire a new plumbing and gas inspector to join their Inspectional Services Department, according to the town website.

"(A) qualified candidate will be charged with technical and inspection work related to the enforcement and interpretation of the Massachusetts State Plumbing and Gas codes relative to residential, commercial and industrial building construction and renovation," reads the job posting on the town website. "The plumbing/gas inspector is responsible for compliance with applicable laws for plumbing and gas safety, including 248 CMR and 521 CMR. Knowledge of plumbing theory, state and local laws and regulations is essential."  

The town is seeking to hire someone with a Mass. driver's license, Mass Journeyman Plumber's license, record-keeping and computer skills and a minimum of five years of experience, according to the posting.

Salary is negotiable for the non-union position, according to the posting. The plumbing and gas inspector reports directly to Building Inspector Cheryl Noble.
