Flash Flood Watch in Effect Through Tuesday Evening

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Stoneham that will remain in place until Tuesday evening.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Stoneham that will remain in place until Tuesday evening.

Rainfall rates in the heaviest showers and storms could exceed two inches per hour.

Showers and thunderstorms will result in pockets of heavy rainfall and the potential for localized flash flooding on Tuesday.

The flash flood watch is in effect until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the NWS.

According to the NWS, residents should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flooding occur.

The threat for heavy rainfall will wane significantly by early evening, according to the NWS.

In Stoneham, there is a 100 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and some of the storms could produce heavy rain.
