RCN to Launch Great American Country TV on August 1

RCN Boston announced today that it will be launching Great American Country (GAC) channel on August 1st. In advance of the launch, RCN will sponsor Country 102.5 WKLB’s first annual all day Street Party on Lansdowne Street in Boston on Sunday, July 28th. 

 

Great American Country, is a Nashville, Tennessee-based cable television network featuring a country lifestyle format, along with country music programming and music videos. GAC is the leader in country music entertainment, and delivers to viewers the widest variety of country music, its artists and the lifestyles they influence. GAC broadcasts original country music programming, music performance specials, live concerts and music videos. GAC will be launching on RCN’s Premiere tier on channel 168.

“Country music and programming has become increasingly popular amoung our customers in the Greater Boston Area,”said Jeff Carlson, Vice President and General Manager, RCN Boston. “Adding Great American Country to our channel lineup is another opportunity for us to connect our customers to their interests and we are excited to launch the network.”

 Prior to the GAC network launch, RCN will sponsor Country 102.5 WKLB’s first annual Street Party on Sunday, July 28th. The station will take over Lansdowne Street and host Katie Armiger, Brett Eldredge, Parmalee, hometown boy Joel Crouse and Love and Theft on an outdoor stage. Later in the night, the party will move indoors to the House of Blues for Maggie Rose and headliner David Nail. As part of the celebration, RCN will be hosting a contest with a prize of a signed Carrie Underwood guitar.
