 Boston – July 8, 2013 – Summer is sizzling and RCN Boston has something for you that will cool off you and your friends as the RCN Summer Ice Cream Truck is back on the road!  For the 7th consecutive year, RCN will roll through neighborhoods in Greater Boston and Metrowest areas, delivering free frozen treats.  The RCN Ice Cream Truck will be broadcasting its schedule and status in real-time via Twitter.  Followers of the RCN Boston Ice Cream Truck Twitter Handle via  RCNBoston1 will be the first to know when the truck is headed their way.

Also, new this year, tweet @RCNBoston1 why the truck should come to your neighborhood or business and enter to win a visit from the truck!  Only neighborhoods and businesses located in RCN service areas are eligible. These areas include: Allston, Arlington, Boston, Brighton, Brookline, Burlington, Dedham, Dorchester, Framingham, Hyde Park, Lexington, Milton, Natick, Needham, Newton, Roslindale, Somerville, Stoneham, Wakefield, Waltham, Watertown, West Roxbury and Woburn.  The contest will start July 8 and the winners chosen on July 22. 

 “Our Ice Cream Truck Tour is a unique event that we look forward to every summer,” said RCN Vice President and General Manager Jeff Carlson.  “The Tour is part of the company’s movement to build strong, long-lasting relationships with local communities through personal outreach.  It shows our customers that we want to be an active member of their daily lives, and it also gives everyone a great excuse to eat ice cream!”  

The truck is wrapped in RCN’s distinctive blue and green colors and showcases RCN’s commitment to providing customers with the best Digital TV, High-speed Internet and Phone bundles in and around Boston over a reliable network of fiber-optic cables.

In addition to the free ice cream goodies, RCN staff will be on hand at the truck to provide local residents with information regarding the company’s products and services.  The RCN Ice Cream Truck will be in Framingham on July 8 and in Hyde Park on July 15.  Check out RCN’s Facebook page for exact times and locations!
