This time of year I drink a lot of warming drinks - hot teas by the pot, homemade ginger syrup soda, and I love a good spiced apple cider on the stovetop. Last year I tried a Fall-inspired sangria for Thanksgiving with slices of apples and pears, it was delicious!

Those all sound great, Amy. Now I'm curious about the fall sangria you had. Did you make that yourself?

I did Mark! I made an elderberry honey syrup as the sweet "base" and then used a dry white wine plus the fruit and spices (cinnamon sticks, star anise, cardamom pods). Thekitchn blog has a nice roundup of cold weather sangrias if you're looking to experiement: http://www.thekitchn.com/perfect-for-tha-161170.
