A Stoneham woman may lose her license following a hit-and-run incident near a local funeral home Monday morning, according to police.

At 7:42 a.m. Dec. 10, Stoneham Police and Fire responded to a hit-and-run call near the McDonald Finnegan Funeral Home located on Common Street.

A 2011 Chevrolet pick-up truck, driven by a 66-year-old Stoneham woman, "was traveling north on Main Street, turned onto Common Street, crashed into (a) stop sign then through (the) fence of (the) funeral home. (The) vehicle then drove back onto Common Street and left scene," Police Chief Jim McIntyre said in an email to Stoneham Patch Tuesday.

"(The) operator (was) cited for leaving the scene of a property damage crash," McIntyre said, adding that the estimated damage was more than $250. 

No one was injured during the incident, according to McIntyre.

Alcohol, speed and texting did not play a role in the crash, according to McIntyre. He noted that the Registry of Motor Vehicles will make a determination as to whether the woman will lose her license.

The scene was secured in about 20 minutes, McIntyre said.
