Redstone Liquors will be selling one of the highest rated and rarest beers in the world starting at 5 p.m. Wednesday, according to the company's website.

Redstone Liquors is one of four locations in Massachusetts selling Belgian-brewed Westvleteren XII, according to the site. The beers won't be sold anytime before 5 p.m. Wednesday and will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis, the site notes.

"Westvleteren 12 is a Belgian Trappist Ale that has consistently been voted the single best tasting beer in the world," according to the Westvleteren XII website. "All major beer rating sites agree that this is the pinnacle of beers, including: Beer Advocate, Rate Beer and Beer Pal. That's a little over 2,300 beer experts saying that this is the best beer, anywhere.

"Located in the western corner of Belgium, the St Sixtus Abbey (or Westvleteren Abdij) is home to the Trappist Westvleteren Brewery. The Brewery was founded in 1838 and is owned and operated by the monks of the St Sixus Abbey."

Redstone Liquors will be selling about 50 bricks (a brick consists of six beer bottles and two glasses) at $85 per brick, and all proceeds will go to monks to help rebuild a monastery in Belgium, according to the site.

"(A) line for bricks will be formed in a marked area outside of the store. No numbers will be given out to hold bricks, (and) you must be in line to get one," reads the website. "Bricks are limited to one per household please as we would like to spread these out as much as possible. People wishing to buy a brick will be let in store in small groups at 5 p.m. (Wednesday), (and) as people are done shopping and leave others in line will be let in for their turn."

Customers not planning to buy Westvleteren XII can enter the store without waiting in line, according to the site. Redstone Liquors is also running a one-day special on Wednesday, Dec. 12 between 9 a.m and 10 p.m., as single bottles of beer and wine will be raised 15 percent off the purchase of six or more bottles and 20 percent off 12 or more, according to the site.
