Norden Brothers Reunited After Losing Legs in Marathon Bombing

The brothers from Stoneham who were injured during the Boston Marathon bombings spoke recently to FOX 25 about the terrifying ordeal.

Following the Boston Marathon bombings, Paul and J.P. Norden were separated, each rushed to area hospitals after losing a leg. They were recently reunited for the first time, and spoke to FOX 25 in their first interview since the bombings.

"I started crying," said Paul Norden in last week's interview from his hospital room. "We just hugged for a few minutes."

Both of the brothers were within feet of the bomb allgedly set off by "Suspect No. 2," who is seen in a photograph eerily close to the Norden brothers, who grew up in Stoneham.

Following the blast, Paul and J.P. have each undergone multiple surgeries and each has a long recovery ahead as they cope with the loss of a leg. Each was in a separate hospital, making it difficult for them to see each other in the days after the bombings.

But despite the tragedy, the Norden brothers remain optimistic. According to FOX 25, Paul Norden was moved to Spaulding Rehabilitation Center following his interview.

"They're strong kids. They have great friends," said their mother, Liz Norden, according to the news station. "They'll be fine."
