Hot Off the T: Burrito Bowl, Classical Music and More
Check out our sampling of activities happening in Boston from Feb. 4-5.
- It’s African-American History Month and it’s one of the warmest winters on record. Take part in both with an African-American Patriots walking tour. The tour starts at the Freedom Trail Visitor Information Center Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m. Tickets are $6–12. Take the commuter rail to North Station, then the Orange Line to Downtown Crossing and walk three minutes to the .
- This is your last weekend to see the Museum of Fine Art’s “Degas and the Nude.” The exhibit, co-produced by the MFA and Museé d’Orsay in Paris, showcases pieces painted throughout the artist’s career. Take the commuter rail to North Station, then the Orange Line to the Green Line E Branch to the Museum of Fine Arts Stop and cross Huntington Avenue to the museum.
- Yes, most of this week’s list is about getting a little culture in before Sunday’s football free-for-all, but who can pass up a good burrito contest? hosts some of Boston’s hottest chefs to compete in “.” The contest starts Saturday at 1 p.m.. - NPR’s classical music showcase, “From The Top,” is Saturday. Come see some of classical music’s brightest young stars at Jordan Hall. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.. Tickets are $25. Take the commuter rail to North Station, then the Orange Line to Mass. Ave. and walk four minutes to Jordan Hall.
- Need more classical music to counteract the Madonna-led halftime show? Head over to Symphony Hall Saturday at 8 p.m. and watch Swiss conductor Charles Dutoit lead the BSO in “Strauss, Dutilleux and Debussy.” Tickets for the French-themed program start at $32. Take the commuter rail to North Station, then the Orange Line to Mass. Ave. and walk three minutes to Symphony Hall.
