Boston Chocolate Walking Tours Make For One Sweet Getaway
All moms like chocolate. Or they should.
You've heard the old stumper about the tree falling in the forest. Here's a new question for you: If you eat a piece of chocolate while exercising, do the calories still count?
Time to find out. Sign up for one of the Boston Chocolate Walking Tours and feel the (very mild) burn while you also sample some of the best dark (and milk) magic five of Boston's premier chocolate locations (Teuscher! O & Co.!) have to offer. Running every Thursday and Friday at 5:45 p.m., every Saturday at 12:15 and 3:15 p.m. and every Sunday at 11:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m., the tours include no more than 15 participants and cover a nice chunk of scenic downtown.
And we're not just talking plain old chocolate here. No, no. We’re talking an unpredictable mix of full-on truffles, maybe a brownie, possibly a chunk of a really, really good chocolate bar. Yet it's as if the calories disappear, as you in your comfortable walking shoes (armed with a bottle of water, please) tread lightly amongst gourmet counters for a solid two-and-a-half hours. (For those of you who think the wee ones shouldn’t miss the experience―bless your maternal souls―strollers are also welcome.)

The tour costs $40 a person, unless you were one of the smart ones who took advantage of Boston Chocolate Walking Tour's recent Groupon. Wrangle a group of 10 or more fellow chocolate aficionados and pay only $36 each.

Over two hours of health-minded chocolate tasting? That qualifies as a proper escape in our book.
