Single Stream Recycling Has Come to Stoneham

Residents can now put all their recyclables in one container if they choose.  Stickers are available at the Town Hall or the Public Works Department which can be placed on a barrel up to 30 gals. in size.

Do not buy oversized barrels--they will NOT be picked up.

There is no limit on the number of recycling barrels you can put out.  No barrel can exceed 50 lbs. in weight.

Do you have to have a sticker to use a regular size bin?

In an earlier article Tom Bousse stated that a 50 gallon barrel was not only acceptable but the trucks were equiped for those types of barrels. 30 Gallons is such an odd size since every other town that has implemented single stream program provides 50 gallon barrels to residents and if more than one is need then purchasing more is an option. Clarification would be appreciated!
