$3 Student Tickets Available to Stoneham Theatre
$3 STUDENT TIX TO STONEHAM THEATRE FOR STONEHAM STUDENTS & OTHERS
Christmas came early to Stoneham Theatre this week, and just in time to purchase tickets to the holiday classic, It’s a Wonderful Life. An anonymous donor has pledged funds to make live theatre accessible and affordable for students in Melrose, Wakefield and Stoneham by providing student tickets for only $3. Additionally, Reading Co-operative Bank provides funds that allow students in their communities – Reading, North Reading, Wilmington, Woburn, Burlington and Andover – to attend any Mainstage or young company show for only $3.
“We want to invest in the youth in our communities and feel that it is important to expose them to the power of live theatre, especially during a time where the arts are continuously being cut back,” Reading Co-operative Bank President Julieann Thurlow shares. “We are thrilled to allow students the opportunity to attend Stoneham Theatre for only $3 and hope that they take advantage of it.”
It’s A Wonderful Life, the classic film starring James Stewart and Donna Reed, has been adapted for the stage by Stoneham’s Producing Artistic Director Weylin Symes. “This $3 program is a wonderful opportunity for entire families to see a Holiday classic live on stage for a fraction of the cost of other Holiday performances. We are very grateful to our anonymous donor for making live theatre accessible to families,” says Symes.
As the fifth largest performing arts organization in Boston, Stoneham Theatre attracted over 46,000 people last year. Currently in its thirteenth season, Stoneham Theatre offers seven main stage productions each year, a variety of student performances, a youth education program and a series of special events.
It’s A Wonderful Life opens November 23rd and runs through December 23rd. For more information regarding the $3 student program, call the Stoneham Theatre box office at (781)279-2200 or visit www.stonehamtheatre.org.
